Profound analytical and problem solving skills are required. Strong knowledge of CPT & ICD-9/ICD-10 Coding and LCD Policies. Must possess strong computer skills. The ideal candidate has experience in PayerPath.
 

The perfect candidate for the position must be able to do the following:
• Prepares and submits clean claims to various insurance companies via paper and electronically through our clearinghouse
• Codes office visits, consultations, office procedures, surgeries, etc. for all new and established patients
• Always ensures a healthy AR
• Manage Fee Schedules for all insurance companies to ensure proper payments
• Renegotiates insurance contracts when necessary
• Tracks provider's productivity and percentage of rejected claims
• Answers questions from patients, clerical staff and insurance companies
• Identifies and resolves patient billing complaints
• Prepares, reviews and sends patient statements
• Evaluates patient's financial status and establishes budget payment plans.
• Performs various collection actions including contacting insurance companies and patients by phone, correcting and resubmitting claims to third party payers
• Processes payments from insurance companies and prepares a daily deposit 

• Participates in educational activities and attends monthly staff meetings
• Conducts self in accordance with the practice's employee manual
• Submit monthly reports regarding company AR
• Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations
 

Minimum requirements:

High School graduate required.
Must have 3 years experience in physician office billing or other healthcare revenue cycle management setting

Job Description:
-Audits invoices and expense reports for compliance with policies and procedures.
-Duties and tasks are frequently routine, but can vary in complexity based upon the type of document being audited and the type of expense
-Review and post AP batches to general ledger
-Under close supervision, applies some advanced skills and procedures
-May orient, train, assign and check the work of lower level employees

Skill set

The temporary Billing Specialist will work in a dynamic environment with a complex billing structure and firm controls. The successful candidate must have an understanding of accounting concepts and be able to handle intricate billing procedures.

Essential Functions
-Invoicing large volume of accounts for various billing structures.
-Monthly reconciliation of client accounts
-Verify client contracts for accurate billing
-Working cross-functionally to address client issues or concerns
-Assist with customer collections on past due accounts
-Demonstrate a high level of diplomacy and tact during all customer interactions
-Develop and maintain key A/R and cash collection metrics
-Administer monthly close process
-Support other accounting processes such as:

Skill set

SKILL SET

• Troubleshooting Windows Server 2003-2012, Active Directory, Exchange 2003-2013, Mobile Devices
• Basic technical support at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, switches and firewalls
• Remote Support using tools such as LabTech, Zenith, VNC, Remote Desktop and or other technologies
